Mission and Vision

Our project in the Peruvian Amazon is dedicated to ecological preservation, community sustainability, and the safeguarding of indigenous Shipibo culture. Established in 2017 with initial support from Yuan TMC via the NGO Pino Joni, our initiative has grown from a small, grassroots effort into a meaningful, locally integrated programme.

We operate with a minimalist, low-overhead approach, ensuring that the vast majority of funds go directly into practical, achievable outcomes that benefit both the environment and the surrounding communities.

Key Areas of Work

1. Land and Environmental Stewardship

  • Management of 8 hectares of land, including a 100-meter-deep well providing pure Amazon water.

  • Ongoing recovery and maintenance of the nature reserve following the challenges of fires and seasonal floods.

  • Acquisition of 15 additional hectares to expand conservation efforts.

  • Cultivation of trees, fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants to promote biodiversity and sustainability.

2. Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security

  • Development of an organic fish farm supporting turtles and native fish species.

  • Care and breeding of capybara, ducks, and geese for a self-sustaining ecosystem.

  • Supply of fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, and eggs to support local community food security.

3. Cultural Preservation and Education

  • Protection and promotion of Shipibo tradition and culture.

  • Educational programs focused on ecological awareness, sustainable living, and indigenous knowledge.

  • Support for multicultural and indigenous studies, integrating ancient traditions with practical ecological applications.

  • Sponsorship of Kelson Cauper Sánchez’s university-level studies in anthropology, focusing on the intersection of indigenous cultural preservation and ecological sustainability.

  • Engagement of a growing community of young people to ensure the continuity of environmental and cultural stewardship.

Achievements and Impact

Since 2017, we have worked with a clear purpose: to sustain and protect Amazonian land while empowering the Indigenous community that cares for it.

Our first step was to create an educational learning space for the youths, planting the seeds of self-sufficiency and ecological stewardship. Through this work, we have:

  • Taught youths sustainable cultivation, self-care, and community health practices

  • Introduced Qi Gong and acupuncture, giving the youth practical tools for wellness and cultural pride

  • Inspired a new generation of young leaders to care for their land and preserve their heritage

From this educational foundation, the project has expanded to address the long-term sustainability of both the community and the land

  • Recovering and protecting natural ecosystems across our land holdings

  • Acquiring and expanding land to ensure a secure and sustainable reserve

  • Preserving Indigenous knowledge and integrating it into hands-on ecological management

  • Securing legal and official status to safeguard the land and its cultural heritage for generations to come

Even during the pandemic, when in-person programs were paused, we used all available funding to maintain the nature reserve and protect the land, keeping the foundation for future education and ecological work intact.

With continued support we will:

  • Strengthen our educational programs, including healing practices and sustainability training

  • Deepen our ecological impact, ensuring the land and its community thrive together

  • Secure the future of this unique grassroots initiative in the Amazon
